Baseball Game Preview: Costa Mesa Mustangs vs. San Juan Hills Stallions

The Costa Mesa Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the San Juan Hills Stallions at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Costa Mesa will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Costa Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kaiser, sneaking past 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Costa Mesa saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Aiden Comte was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Costa Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, San Juan Hills gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over El Toro. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Costa Mesa pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for San Juan Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 15-13.
