Softball Game Preview: Falkner Eagles vs. Potts Camp Cardinals

For the second straight game, Falkner will face off against Potts Camp. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Falkner has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Potts Camp will come in with six straight victories.

On Friday, Falkner came up short against Potts Camp and fell 4-1. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

For Potts Camp's part, Alyssa Clifton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Clifton has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Myleigh Melton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Haley Ackerman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Potts Camp pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Falkner, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.
