Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Countryside

Countryside extended their home winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Corey Perlin. The Countryside Cougars blew past the Tarpon Springs Spongers 87-18 on Wednesday thanks in part to Perlin, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 boards. He also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Countryside is 8-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-5 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Tyson Jean Baptist, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. Those 12 points gave him a new career-high.

Countryside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Tarpon Springs, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Countryside will host Anclote at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Countryside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. Tarpon Springs has already played their next contest (against Largo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
