After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Madison Academy, Elkmont was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Brindlee Mountain Lions with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.
MJ Woodfin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, McKenzie Doner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Ava Guth was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
