Addi Benton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Steele, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Sanders, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Queen's Grant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy only posted an OBP of .300.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions last Tuesday. Langtree Charter Academy lost 18-8 to Hickory Grove Christian.
Reese Horton and Addison Longino stepped up to the plate in a big way. Horton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Longino scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Queen's Grant pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Langtree Charter Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Queen's Grant has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Langtree Charter Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 2 strikeouts. Will Queen's Grant keep running through batters, or will Langtree Charter Academy buck the trend?
Everything went Queen's Grant's way against Langtree Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in February, as Queen's Grant made off with an 18-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Queen's Grant since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
