Volleyball Recap: Discovery Canyon Takes a Loss

Discovery Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the Niwot Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Thunder were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in November of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Discovery Canyon's offense was headlined by Lexi Haughian and Cami Fisher, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Grimm and her nine assists. Finally, Anna Kranz kept Discovery Canyon's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Discovery Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Niwot, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Discovery Canyon has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Grandview on the 31st. As for Niwot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Lewis-Palmer on the 31st.
