Softball Recap: Greater Nanticoke Area Takes a Loss

Greater Nanticoke Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-2 to the Berwick Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Haley Verazin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That run was her first of the season.

Greater Nanticoke Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Berwick, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Nanticoke Area will face off against Old Forge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Berwick, they will venture away from home to challenge Wyoming Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
