Soccer Recap: Pope Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pope had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Greyhounds who were credited with the win. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while McIntosh are ranked 50th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pope has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 games. As for McIntosh, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

As of now, neither Pope nor the Chiefs have any future games scheduled.
