Softball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wheeler can now relate to. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Union on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Wheeler saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kate Beckham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for West Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season.

While Wheeler had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
