Basketball Game Preview: Alexander Spartans vs. Wellston Golden Rockets

Alexander and Wellston are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Alexander Spartans will host the Wellston Golden Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Alexander took a blow against Fairfield Union, falling 66-32. The match marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 79-77 heartbreaker at the hands of Ross County Christian Academy. One positive for the Golden Rockets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Alexander and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Wellston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
