Basketball Game Preview: Riverheads Gladiators vs. Waynesboro Little Giants

The Riverheads Gladiators will head out to take on the Waynesboro Little Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverheads knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Waynesboro likes a good challenge.

Riverheads will head into Friday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune last Friday. 2025 welcomed they with an 88-62 loss courtesy of Fort Defiance. The Gladiators haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Fluvanna County.

Waynesboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Riverheads, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Riverheads and Waynesboro were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Riverheads came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Riverheads avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
