Parsippany Hills was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Chatham. The Vikings came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Delbarton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in Northwest Jersey - National. The Green Wave vanquished West Morris Mendham 28-0 earlier in the week.
Parsippany Hills' dynamic duo of Brandon Katzenberger and Tommy Bluj proved tough for the Cougars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Katzenberger threw for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns and Bluj had 71 yards receiving. Evan Smith helped Parsippany Hills' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 56 yards.
David Albano's team's dynamic duo of Katzenberger and Bluj proved to be unstoppable against Chatham, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Andrew Sanders was a passing and rushing force as Delbarton topped the Minutemen. Sanders' favorite target this week was Matt Oplinger, who caught 2 passes for 41 yards.
Bluj was the best wideout in the league this week as the Vikings bested Jason Isza's team.
Katzenberger put up the best numbers in passing as Parsippany Hills topped the Cougars.
Sanders was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 170 yards as Brian Bowers' team defeated Chatham. Teammate Robert Arancio added to the ground attack by rushing for 126 yards.
He went 10-19 with 2 interceptions.
Leading Northwest Jersey - National in both passing and receiving yards, Parsippany Hills' Katzenberger and Smith have proven to be a lethal combination. Katzenberger has thrown for 342 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 11 catches for 144 yards. Arancio from the Green Wave leads the league in rushing with 176 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when West Morris Central takes on Roxbury. As it stands, the Wolfpack are in third, while the Gaels are in first.
Morristown scaled the state rankings by moving to 184 from 221 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Colonials climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Roxbury 13-10.
