Baseball Recap: South Vermillion Find Success

South Vermillion and Seeger pushed the score to 17-5 the last time they played Seeger, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 4-0 shutout. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 17-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Parker Weir, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Seeger off the board. Weir also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Vermillion is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bryson Lemmons, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Dallas Coleman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

South Vermillion now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Seeger, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

South Vermillion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
