Basketball Recap: Miami-Yoder Comes Up Short

Miami-Yoder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Hi-Plains Patriots and fell 44-17. The Buffaloes were down 36-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Miami-Yoder saw an underclassman step up: freshman Miranda Howard posted six points.

Miami-Yoder's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hi-Plains, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miami-Yoder will host Thomas MacLaren School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders' defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so the Buffaloes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hi-Plains, they will challenge Bethune at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
