Riverton and Lone Peak squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Riverton had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The Silverwolves' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Rocky Downs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Zullo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Riverton's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Lone Peak, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.

While Riverton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
