Softball Game Preview: Leipsic Vikings vs. McComb Panthers

The Leipsic Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the McComb Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Leipsic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Continental on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to the Pirates. The Vikings have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, McComb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Ridgemont, falling 15-5.

McComb saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Sherick, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

McComb's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Leipsic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Leipsic suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to McComb in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
