Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Alter Comes Up Short

Archbishop Alter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Bellbrook Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Archbishop Alter took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-18.

Leading Bellbrook to victory were Kayla Wallace and Lucia Mescher. Wallace had nine digs and two aces, while Mescher had ten digs and five assists. Those two aces gave Wallace a new career-high. Payton Burns also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Archbishop Alter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Bellbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Archbishop Alter will venture away from home to face off against Badin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellbrook, they will welcome Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
