Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Alter Knights vs. Bellbrook Golden Eagles
Archbishop Alter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Bellbrook Golden Eagles. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Archbishop Alter took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-18.
Lauren Lunne paced Archbishop Alter's offense, picking up six kills. Lunne got some help from Morgan Gerlach and her six assists. Ella Hawk controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Bellbrook to victory were Kayla Wallace and Lucia Mescher. Wallace had nine digs and two aces, while Mescher had ten digs and five assists. Those two aces gave Wallace a new career-high. Payton Burns also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Archbishop Alter's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Bellbrook, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
