Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends North Bend Central's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but North Bend Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. The game between them and the Archbishop Bergan Knights didn't end well, with the North Bend Central Tigers falling 59-40. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

North Bend Central's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Archbishop Bergan, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Bend Central will challenge Scotus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotus will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something North Bend Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Archbishop Bergan, they will take on Lincoln Lutheran at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Bergan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Lincoln Lutheran likes a good challenge.
