Brandon and Riverview are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Brandon Eagles will face off against the Riverview Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brandon's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Spoto. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Spartans on their field since April 11, 2022.

Brandon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Edwards, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Riverview posted their closest win since April 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tampa Bay Tech, sneaking past 4-2. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Parker Burt tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jan Carlos Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Riverview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Kaden Hess was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Riverview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Brandon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.25 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.91 in the others. The win got Riverview back to even at 8-8.

Brandon suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Riverview in their previous meeting back in February. Can Brandon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
