Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Bishop Fenwick Falcons

The Franklin Wildcats will head out to square off against the Bishop Fenwick Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Franklin needed a bit of extra time to put away Chaminade Julienne Catholic. They skirted past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 13, 2024.

Franklin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Leach, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Those two hits gave Leach a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bishop Fenwick fell victim to Badin and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Rams. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

The victory got Franklin back to even at 8-8. As for Bishop Fenwick, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Franklin skirted past Bishop Fenwick 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
