Volleyball Recap: Andrean Fighting 59ers vs. Hanover Central Wildcats
Andrean entered their game against Hanover Central on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Fighting 59ers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 24-26, 25-20.
Aleece Ehler paced Andrean's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ehler got some help from Aubrey Ralick and her 35 assists. Ehler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Hanover Central was led to victory by Liliana Chorba and Riley Tormey. Chorba had ten digs and three aces, while Tormey had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Tormey a new career-high.
Andrean's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hanover Central, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Andrean wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Marian Catholic on the 24th. As for Hanover Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
