Football Recap: Damien Continues Road Dominance on Friday + How To Watch

Damien took a 28-point defeat the last time they faced off against JSerra Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over the Lions on Friday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 49-21 loss the last time these two teams met.

Damien got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Arriaza out in front who threw for 414 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in two scores on the ground. That's the most rushing touchdowns Arriaza has posted since back in October of 2024. Damien's leading receiver Eric Osorio was Arriaza's top target yet again, picking up 213 receiving yards and one TD.

Despite the loss, JSerra Catholic still got an impressive performance from William Fredericksen, who rushed for 87 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also picked up 72 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Damien pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points over those games. As for JSerra Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Damien will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for JSerra Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on Kamehameha Kapalama at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
