Football Recap: Damien Spartans vs. JSerra Catholic Lions
Damien took a 28-point defeat the last time they faced off against JSerra Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over the Lions on Friday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 49-21 loss the last time these two teams met.

Damien got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Arriaza out in front who threw for 414 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in two scores on the ground.
