Preview: Heritage Generals vs. Central Lions
Heritage is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Central is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Heritage Generals will take on the Central Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Heritage's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Sonoraville out 22-19.
The critical scores for Heritage came from Evan Wingrove, Max Owens, and Jc Armour.
Meanwhile, Central put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Northwest Whitfield with a sharp 42-20 win.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonaz Walton, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jr Harris, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Another reason for the win was Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Caden Morehead and Eric Moore who racked up five sacks between them.
Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Heritage came up short against Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 35-23. Will Heritage have more luck at home instead of on the road?
