Volleyball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Laurel lost against Hardin back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Locomotives fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. While the Locomotives didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-19 in the first set.

Laurel started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Layla Bausch paced Laurel's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bausch got some help from Avery Norman and her 31 assists. Norman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Laurel and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1. As for Hardin, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Laurel is set to challenge their familiar foe East Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hardin will square off against rival Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
