Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

St. Mary put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Calloway County Lakers. The three-run effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

St. Mary saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Haas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Haas has posted since back in April of 2024.

St. Mary pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Calloway County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, St. Mary will welcome Christian Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calloway County, they will challenge Caldwell County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Calloway County 1.2, Caldwell County 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
