Football Recap: Marist Takes a Loss

Marist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 33-7 to the Henley Hornets. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Joseph Janney had an outrageously good game for Henley as he rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Brunick, who rushed for 114 yards and one score.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Marist will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Seaside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Henley, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
