Volleyball Recap: Plainfield South Comes Up Short

Plainfield South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Joliet West Tigers. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10.

Leah Oehmke paced Plainfield South's offense, picking up five kills. Oehmke got some help from Grace Malek and her five assists.

Plainfield South's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Joliet West, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

Plainfield South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Plainfield East on the 7th. As for Joliet West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Minooka on the 7th.
