Recap: Westminster Lions vs. Segerstrom Jaguars
The Westminster Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Segerstrom 91-62 at home. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westminster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Hoang, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Hoang continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Matt Tran was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six steals and five assists.
Westminster is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Segerstrom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster will challenge Ocean View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Segerstrom, they will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Pioneer is ranked 867th, while Segerstrom is ranked 882nd).
