Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Mustangs vs. Quanah Indians

Wheeler and Quanah are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Wheeler Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Quanah Indians at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

Wheeler is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 9, 2024 two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Panhandle and fell 69-37. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Quanah, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Panhandle on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but the Indians were the better team in the second half.

Wheeler now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Quanah, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Wheeler was able to grind out a solid win over Quanah when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 50-41. Does Wheeler have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quanah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
