Basketball Game Preview: Swink Lions vs. Rocky Ford Meloneers

The Swink Lions will face off against the Rocky Ford Meloneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Swink and five for Rocky Ford.

It was a proper cat-fight when Swink took on Cheyenne Wells on Saturday. Swink lost 49-29 to Cheyenne Wells. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Tigers are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Rocky Ford came up short against Wiley on Thursday and fell 64-54. That's two games in a row now that the Meloneers have lost by exactly ten points.

Rocky Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Swink, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Everything came up roses for Swink against Rocky Ford when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 51-24 victory. Will Swink repeat their success, or does Rocky Ford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
