Volleyball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Niwot's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Niwot's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis-Palmer Rangers. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Niwot still got an impressive performance from Elise Arends, who had 12 digs and one assist. Arends has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Lewis-Palmer had a senior duo take command as Cady Knight had 21 digs and three aces and Olivia Ivall had 25 assists and eight digs. Those 25 assists set a new season-high mark for Ivall.

Niwot's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Lewis-Palmer, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-7.

Niwot didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Air Academy on the 1st. As for Lewis-Palmer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Mountain Vista on the 1st.
