Softball Recap: Colfax's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Colfax dropped their record down to 13-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 8-4 to the Boyceville Bulldogs. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

As for Boyceville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Boyceville's part, Aubrey Malean was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Malean has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zoey Hellendrung was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Colfax will take on Gilman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyceville, they will face off against Regis at 5:00 p.m. on the 27th.
