Recap: Dell City Cougars vs. Van Horn Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Dell City Cougars, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were outmatched by Van Horn on the road and fell 40-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dell City has scored all season.
Van Horn's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malia Bermudez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Bermudez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Martinez, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Dell City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Van Horn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Dell City will head out on the road to square off against Big Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Bend is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Van Horn will take on Balmorhea at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Balmorhea is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
