Softball Recap: Trumbull Eagles vs. Ludlowe Falcons

It was a good run, but Trumbull unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ludlowe Falcons. Trumbull was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ludlowe apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Tuesday.

For Ludlowe's part, not much got past Alex Lewey, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Trumbull off the board. Lewey has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gina Solow, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Lauren Foley, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI.

Trumbull's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Ludlowe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
