Basketball Recap: Rosewood Takes a Loss

Rosewood was the 55-40 winner over East Duplin when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Rosewood Eagles received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 48-31 to the East Duplin Panthers. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

East Duplin was led to victory by Mason Whaley and Calvin Harper. Whaley went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and four steals, while Harper posted 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Whaley a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Hall, who put up eight points.

Rosewood's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for East Duplin, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Rosewood will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. As for East Duplin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-69 defeat against North Lenoir on the 9th.
