Basketball Recap: Downsville Comes Up Short

Downsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Calvin Cougars, falling 54-14. While losing is never fun, the Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Cougars are ranked 109th).

Downsville's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Calvin, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Downsville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Choudrant at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Calvin, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Calvin Cougars take on the Saline Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
