Baseball Recap: North Kitsap Sets Scoring Season-High Against Olympic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Kitsap). They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Olympic Trojans on Wednesday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

North Kitsap got a big performance out of Spencer Gillespie, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. That double was Gillespie's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tate Stearns, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

North Kitsap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for North Kitsap and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Olympic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
