Kane is 8-2 against Smethport since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolves will head out to square off against the Hubbers at 4:30 p.m. Kane's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Smethport's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Monday just wasn't the day for Kane's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elk County Catholic on Monday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Smethport ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Oswayo Valley 9-8. The Hubbers haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Owen Rounsville was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He has become a key player for Smethport: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Zach Hungiville was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Burdick, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Smethport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oswayo Valley only posted an OBP of .278.

Kane's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Smethport, their record now sits at 4-9.

Kane came out on top in a nail-biter against Smethport in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
