Basketball Recap: Julien Barclay's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clear Lake over Dickinson

Clear Lake lost against Dickinson back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Clear Lake Falcons took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dickinson Gators. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clear Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Julien Barclay, who went 7 of 12 en route to 22 points. Zerach Scoville was another key player, going 7 for 12 on his way to 22 points.

It was another big night for David Chong, who went 7 of 12 en route to 23 points along with eight assists and seven boards for Dickinson. That's the most assists Chong has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of TroyNelle Belle, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Clear Lake's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Dickinson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

Clear Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-45 victory against Deer Park on the 25th. As for Dickinson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-44 win against Brazoswood on the 25th.
