Saluda entered their tilt with Strom Thurmond on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Rebels get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Miller Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Martin was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Sorcia, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Saluda pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Strom Thurmond, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

Saluda and Strom Thurmond should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Saluda will face off against Westwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday up 102 places (22 vs. 124). Meanwhile, Strom Thurmond (ranked 46th) will meet Batesburg-Leesville (ranked 163rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
