Softball Recap: Casa Grande Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Casa Grande never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Napa Grizzlies. The win continues a trend for the Gauchos in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won eight in a row.

Georgia Moss and Lila Partridge were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Moss struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Partridge pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Moss went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Partridge went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits Moss has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Lauren Ketchu and Sam Catania did most of the damage at the plate: Ketchu went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Catania went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Catania a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Nunez-Miller, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.

Casa Grande pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Napa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
