Recap: Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs vs. Heritage Patriots
The Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs were the 51-0 winner over the Heritage Patriots when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Winder-Barrow lost to Heritage on the road by a decisive 40-21 margin on Friday. Winder-Barrow just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Winder-Barrow lost, one person who can't be blamed is Demetrius "mj" Dowdy. Despite the final result, he rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Ryan Mcnally made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Heritage was led to victory by Tony Green and Dion Dean jr. Green threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, while Dean jr picked up 198 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Dean jr's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.
Winder-Barrow has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Heritage, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Winder-Barrow will take on Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Heritage, they will square off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
