Football Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks vs. Matanzas Pirates

The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks will head out on the road to take on the Matanzas Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cornerstone Charter Academy hasn't scored more than 13 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Cornerstone Charter Academy is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 1st on Tuesday. They were beaten by Liberty 36-0. Considering the last time the Ducks couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Matanzas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Florida School for the Deaf & Blind with an 18-12 win. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly six points.

Matanzas has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.1 points on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Things could have been worse for Cornerstone Charter Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 20-6 loss to Matanzas in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can the Ducks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
