Basketball Recap: Ledford Panthers vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles
Ledford gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the East Davidson Golden Eagles with a sharp 59-36 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Leading Ledford to victory were Izzy Smith and Addie Robertson. Smith went 8 for 12 en route to 16 points plus eight steals and five rebounds, while Robertson went 8 for 19 en route to 24 points plus two steals. The dominant performance also gave Robertson a new career-high in threes (eight). Another player making a difference was Za'Kiya Autry, who scored six points along with two steals.
East Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
