Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Nash). They strolled past the Fike Golden Demons with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-54. That's more bragging rights for the Firebirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Southern Nash's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Hartsfield, who rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Camron Lyons, who gained 191 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southern Nash was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 302 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 252 rushing yards in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Fike still got an impressive performance from Sam Finch, who threw for 401 yards and six TDs, and also rushed for 115 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. Demari Lewis was Finch's top target, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Southern Nash pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Fike, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Southern Nash will venture away from home to square off against Hunt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Fike, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
