Football Recap: Prouty Comes Up Short

Prouty and Cathedral squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Prouty had to settle for second. They were dealt a 63-6 loss at the hands of Cathedral. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Prouty has suffered since November 8, 2024.

DJ Desir produced another solid effort rushing for 107 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 69 receiving yards and one score for Cathedral. Desir's longest reception was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another player making a difference was Xavier Roman, who threw for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Prouty fell to 8-1. As for Cathedral, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Prouty and Leicester will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:15 a.m. on the 27th. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cathedral, they will head out on the road to take on Lee at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
