Baseball Recap: La Junta Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for La Junta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Hoehne Farmers with a sharp 21-6 victory on Thursday.

La Junta let Eli Stokes and Gavin Denahy run wild. Stokes got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Denahy scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That triple marked the first that Stokes hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayden Franklin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

La Junta's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Hoehne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

La Junta has already played their next game, a 7-2 loss against Sterling on the 28th. As for Hoehne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 defeat against Silver Creek on the 28th.
