Soccer Game Preview: Bayou Academy vs. Pillow Academy

Bayou Academy hasn't had much luck against Pillow Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Bayou Academy duke it out with the Pillow Academy at 4:30 p.m.

Bayou Academy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Starkville Academy, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Pillow Academy came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Chiefs onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Magnolia Heights from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Hunter Barry led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Pillow Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Bayou Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Bayou Academy might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Pillow Academy when the teams last played on January 13th. Can Bayou Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
