After flying high against Peoria Heights  on Wednesday, Havana came back down to earth. The Ducks fell just short of the Farmington Farmers by a score of  5-4 on Thursday. The Ducks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
 Maddie Howerter put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  Kaydi Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  triple the last three times she's  played.
Havana's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2-1. As for Farmington, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havana will challenge Knoxville at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Farmington, they will face off against Morton at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
